It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
Each home has their own traditions during the festive season and we’ve asked the Connolly Suthers family to tell us some of their household traditions when it comes to their festive activities and food on Christmas Day.

The Christmas tree we use has been around since my oldest brother, Luke was a baby. That's 38 years!

We put out rum balls, sugar-coated peanuts (which we make each Christmas), cherries, a carrot and a beer for Santa.
On Christmas day we always play the song Happy Christmas by John Lennon.
Jessica Douglas
My husband, Sam and I always listen to Mariah Carey’s and Justin Bieber’s Christmas albums when we are setting up the Christmas tree on the 1st of December.
We go Christmas light looking on the week leading up to Christmas where we always listen to Christmas carols in the car and drink coffee or hot chocolate with the aircon on so low that it feels like we’re somewhere cold, meanwhile it’s 30 degrees outside!
Bernie Winn
Growing up we listened to a tape of Bing Crosby over Christmas but especially when putting up the Christmas tree. We would all go to Christmas morning mass together and then home for the tree which was a little crazy with six kids! As we got older this became midnight mass and then home for ham sandwiches.
Today we go to the Christmas Eve Vigil mass and we still listen to Bing Crosby (now using Spotify!) over Christmas and when putting up the tree.

Our day starts off with orange juice and champagne to celebrate not only Christmas Day but one of our cousin’s birthdays. Ir's a double celebration for us!
Georgia Conrow
On Christmas Eve, my husband and I watch the Grinch in the aircon and have hot chocolates. It’s as close to snow as we’re going to get!

Jackie Gaeta
My children put milk and cookies out for Santa and carrots for the reindeers!
Nicola Davison
Our Christmas tradition is playing Mariah Carey every year and our Dad absolutely hates it! It certainly brings out laughter in the room on Christmas morning!

This is my Husband and I’s first Christmas as parents and we are thrilled to start new traditions with our little girl, Nina. A first picture with Santa and a new family bauble hanging on the tree is where we have started!
