With over 40 years of experience, Paul Sterling brings his extensive knowledge of Queensland Compensation Law to Connolly Suthers Lawyers, including over 20 years as an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law.

Paul began his career as an Articled Law Clerk in Townsville in 1983, graduating with a Bachelor of Laws from Queensland University of Technology in 1988. He was Admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in the same year and of the High Court of Australia in 1991. He achieved his Specialist Accreditation in Personal Injuries Law through the Queensland Law Society in 1999. He has worked predominantly in the areas of Personal Injuries and Insurance Litigation but has also worked in other areas including Commercial Litigation, Bankruptcy and Insolvency.

Throughout his career, Paul has lived and worked in the Townsville community, more recently with an exclusive focus on  Plaintiff Personal Injuries matters, representing those injured in work, motor vehicle and other events including many serious injury claims involving brain injuries, quadriplegia, paraplegia, electric shock injuries, wrongful death claims and psychological injuries.

Paul has assisted his clients in the resolution of claims by informal settlement negotiation, compulsory conference, mediation and where necessary through litigation. Paul has represented his clients in matters before the Industrial Magistrates Court, the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission, District and Supreme Courts and the Court of Appeal. Paul has also assisted his clients with submissions to Q-Comp and the Workers' Compensation Regulator and has appeared before the Medical Assessment Tribunal.
