We have extensive experience in representing property developers, landowners and submitters in Planning and Environment Court appeals and aim to provide timely and cost-effective results.

There are strict time limits on the lodgement of planning appeals. You should consult a lawyer early to protect your rights of appeal.

Recent Experience

Connolly Suthers represented developers of an ethanol refinery in defending an appeal lodged by an international competitor against the issue of a development permit for the construction of an ethanol refinery in the Burdekin district. The appeal was resolved by consent orders with appropriate conditions.

Connolly Suthers represented an applicant, who proposed to construct an additional storey on their existing residence and expand their existing car parking area. Neighbouring owners sought a declaration to overturn Council’s approval.

The Planning and Environment Court found that the neighbouring owners had not discharged their onus and refused the application for a declaration.
